Letter from Diane Canova

(Full monthly briefing)

June 24, 2009

Dear Partners,

In this month’s issue of the ACTTION Update, I would like to emphasize the importance of partnerships. Working alongside organizations and individuals with similar interests and goals can create tremendous opportunities to move forward the recommendations made in the Call for ACTTION. As we work to make comprehensive tobacco cessation treatment available for anyone who wishes to quit smoking, we would love to increase participation in the Call for ACTTION efforts.

This month’s National Conference on Tobacco or Health provided many opportunities for new and renewed partnerships and collaborations to promote the need for increased cessation services. More about the conference follows.

A strong united front is the best way to approach the obstacles presented in tobacco control, and collectively our information, insights and resources can accomplish goals we could rarely do alone. Please consider passing this email along to your members or constituents, and encourage them to sign up on www.acttiontoquit.com to receive this newsletter, become an endorser of the Call for ACTTION and join our efforts.

Please let us know if you would like to become more involved in the Call for ACTTION initiatives. As always, we welcome comments, feedback or knowledge that will further the efforts of this partnership.

Regards,

Diane Canova
