(Access to Coverage of Tobacco Treatment In Our Nation)
Shaping Policies | Improving Health
The National Working Group for ActionToQuit is a recently formed, action-oriented group of vested stakeholders (including business, health plans, government agencies, public health and tobacco control), brought together to identify gaps and opportunities for enhancing access to evidence-based tobacco-use treatments. The National Working Group for ActionToQuit is focused on drawing more attention to and driving solutions around the need for expanded consumer access to evidence-based treatments that can help more tobacco users quit. A core element of the National Working Group’s mission is to catalyze political, civic, business and health policy leaders to advocate for system and policy changes to make access to evidence-based tobacco cessation treatments a standard feature of the U.S. health system.
Led by Partnership for Prevention, other members of the National Working Group include: the American Legacy Foundation, the Automotive Industry Action Group, Navistar, the National Business Group on Health, the UCSF/Smoking Cessation Leadership Center, United Health Plan, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
This effort is sponsored by the American Legacy Foundation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Partnership for Prevention, Pfizer, the Smoking Cessation Leadership Center and the UnitedHealth Group. The contents of this Call for Action to Quit were independently determined by Partnership for Prevention with the active input of the reviewers listed above.
